Around the Mama ‘Hood: 001

By the time you read this post (is it cheating on The 100 Day Project to schedule this post in advance? I didn’t know how to get through this weekend otherwise) we’ll be all moved in. We’re taking Peter to the pool for his swimming lesson and I imagine the rest of the day will be spent digging ourselves out of boxes and transforming our new house into a home. What are you up to this weekend?

In this new feature I’ll be sharing some of the things I’ve been loving online lately: articles, recipes, podcast episodes, Instagram accounts, products – it’s all fair game. I hope it will be an opportunity to start conversations over interesting articles and send massive love to other mamas who are doing incredible things online.

I’ve fallen absolutely in love with Eloise’s blog, Frida Be Mighty. It’s full of inspiration for gentle parenting, creating a Montessori home, and helping your child have a beautiful childhood. I especially liked her recent article on creating “Yes” spaces and it has been offering me a lot of inspiration on thinking about how we’ll set up our new home.

Why Modern-Day Motherhood Feels So Frustrating.”

I’m mesmerized by this video of how a video calls down milk while breastfeeding.

An interesting article about how breastfeeding changes your brain.

My friend Claire wrote a great post about self-care ideas for your period (I’m going to write something in this vein specific to mamas soon).

Amy has created a podcast about motherhood and work called Work Like a Mother and it’s awesome.

I’ve surprised myself by not wanting a second child and I know it’s something that many women obsess about almost as soon as they birth the first, so I enjoyed reading about how one woman has been thinking this through for herself.

Old Navy has shamelessly ripped off Mere Soeur’s Raising The Future design, so I hope you’ll join us in boycotting them!

This week I went foraging for wild garlic and nettles, so I can’t wait to make this wild pesto for dinner.

I’m eyeing up this print for above our bed.

What are your favourite things from around the web lately? I’d love to hear!
